Griots boss 15 vs Flex 15mm

Current 15mm polisher died today . Kinda high mileage and it owes me nothing. Anyway i have decided on the Flex or Griots 15 mm polishers. Really only use it for final polishing. I will not be compounding with a LTDA so that isn’t a factor. Warranty and price does not matter to me. My Flex and Griots tools have been good to me so quality isn’t an issue between the 2.

If if anyone has experience with BOTH machines can you please give your opinions on both machine. Maybe pros and cons. I’m having a tough time deciding between them.

    Thank you!
    Jim

If you can burn thru a long throw (must have been a Rupes) then go with the lifetime warranty.

For your ears and bones(joints) I pick flex for finishing work. It is smooth and quiet.

The Flex comes with a 6 inch backing plate? If so I’d choose the G15.

The Flex costs $422 + you have to buy an additional backing plate @$25 bucks totaling nearly $450 to simply equip it the way it should’ve came in the 1st place... I dunno about you, but if I’m getting a 15mm polisher I want that thing to use a 5” backing plate and not some huge 6.5”-7” pads for my final polishing. [not every vehicle is a full size truck]

On the other hand, the G15 costs $365 and comes equipped with a 5” backing plate and they include a free Griots polishing rack [retail price of $80 bucks] not to mention a lifetime warranty and top notch customer service.

IMO it’s a no brainer. I’ve never tried the Flex, but I just can’t get over a 15mm polisher coming with a 6” backing plate. That would annoy the heck out of me. I love my 6” backing plate, but it’s on a 21mm polisher!

He clearly mentioned money isn’t an issue. The Flex is a smoother polisher. I do agree a 5” backing plate is better on a 15mm, and he could buy one.

Ordered a Flex! It should come with a 5 inch backing plate and the bigger one should be the optional accessory to buy.

A little late but yes I have used Griots and they were louder and vibrated more both 15" and 21". The Griots are well built just not to my preference.
