Hello,
I just bought a new truck. I clay barred with. Non aggressive bar. The paint is perfect. What's the best wax or sealant to use to maximize longevity of the clear coat?

Collinite 476 will last 1-2 years... and while not necessary.... topped with Optimum Car Wax and yur golden for quite some time. OCW alone will last 4 months easily.

i bet your paint isn't perfect haha, but all kidding aside I'm a big fan of menzerna/jespar powerlock.

I would still recommend polishing the paint surface first. You could use an AIO product like Blackfire One-Step.
Wolfgang offers the Deep Gloss Paint Sealant and it's extremely glossy and very durable.
BLACKFIRE One Step, BLACKFIRE Total Polish & Seal, polish and wax, cleaner wax, car polish
Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant delivers a deep, wet, liquid shimmer unlike anything you can imagine.

If the paint is perfect enough for you as is, there’s tons of good sealants that last in the 6 month range (Powerlock and Wolfgang mentioned above are great). Collinite 845, 915 or 476 (listed above) should get you 6+ months. Check out the Autogeek website Sealants Page.
There’s also a great deal of sprays (wax, synthetics or SiO2 that can increase the longevity of whatever u decide.

Re: Best wax/sealant for new car
The good news is there is a huge variety of quality products here for just about every level of effort and price. The bad news is there is a huge variety....
Ultimately you should chose one based on what is important to you, i.e. cost, durability, ease of use, application method (spray/liquid/paste), etc.
The important thing isn't so much which quality product you use, but actually using something and then getting yourself into a resonable routine of keeping the vehicle clean and refeshing the product when needed.

Re: Best wax/sealant for new car
As everyone has stated, there is no one product that is best. Pick something mentioned above from the AG store and apply twice a year. Once before the cold winter comes and then in the late spring time. I like the Griots Garage Poly Wax for easy application, long life, and price. Collinite 845 or the 946-paste wax work well and both will last about the same time. BlackFire and Wolfgang and McKees are are great products, but really anything AG sells will do the job. Just remember to apply thin coats and consider a spray wax or sealant between washes.
Have fun with the new truck!

You have a plethora of choices. The good thing is in the last couple of years product quality has improved significantly. You can't go wrong with any reputable brand. I like Menzerna or the USA version called Jescar Powerlock (sealant) and colorlock (wax). Polish Angel has IMO the best liquid waxes out on the market today. That is just my opinion.

Re: Best wax/sealant for new car
I usually use Duragloss 101 "Cleaner and Polish" in that situation.
I have my guitarist's new truck to do soon, and he is getting the DG101. Light cleaners and durable sealant seem like the best bet for that job.
If it were my car, I would probably do a dedicated polish followed by a dedicated sealant. Probably Menzerna 3500 followed by Duragloss 601+111.
