Rupes LHR21 MARK2 polisher
I have just ordered the rupes lhr 21 mark 2 polisher, and the 5inch backing plate for the 5 inch pad from rupes, I am wondering how much difference there is in the throw with the 5 inch backing plate with the 5 inch pad from the 6 inch? Does anyone know cannot find the answer antwhere.

Re: Rupes LHR21 MARK2 polisher
Not too sure what your asking but the Rupes pads are actually a 5in that flares out to 6in. And a 6in that flares out to 7in. I run my Mark ll 21 with the 5in setup with Rupes pads and it works great.

Re: Rupes LHR21 MARK2 polisher
If I understand the question, I think the answer is zero.
I don't believe the throw is different from one size backing plate to another. In this case, it will still be 21mm.
The distance the pad would travel, I think would be larger by 1/2", or @ 12mm. I get that by taking the difference in the pad size (1"), and dividing by 2, as the distance from the center of the pad where the "throw" I believe would be measured is half the diameter of the pad, or the radius, or 1/2". That equals 12.25mm larger surface that 1" larger pad would travel. But that 12.25mm I believe would be the same delta for any "throw".

The throw is exactly the same. The coverage area per throw is as explained above and easily figured with basic math.

Re: Rupes LHR21 MARK2 polisher
That effective area of pad motion where true correction takes place would be 1 inch smaller put your machine's oscillation is still offset at 21mm
