I have to admit, Rustoleum and lacquer thinner are not two products I would have considered using on leather seats.

My question would be how long before I begin getting a nice red tint on the buttocks of my khaki pants...I would wager the first time I was in the car for more than 20 min. Lol.

The guy wiped it down with 303 and a rag and there was nothing on the rag, so I'd say the chances of that happening are zero. Those guys at SPC are pretty sharp.

The aluminum polish worked good on the headlights. I don't think I would be running that compounding pad loaded with it over the paint though...

Definitly made the seats look much better. I'm sure the lacquer thinner breaks down leather though...

    Not a bad idea.

I didn't catch the dry time, did anyone notice?
A hair dryer would flash the thinner quick.

Re: Some Extreme techniques that are kinda odd but......

I tested polishing the headlights with a metall polish. It cleared them up great with a mini polisher and a cutting pad. I did follow it up with an AIO to get some protection on them and a little better finish on them. But even with a cutting pad and the metall polish it finished down great. So for quick fix it is a great option if you don't have the time to sand them down and build up the finish.

I have watched a lot of his videos. Some are questionable. Like, he uses Coconut milk to condition leather seats. I would think that stuff would go bad after a while and stink up the car pretty badly. In other videos, I cannot find anything wrong with what he is suggesting even if it's a completelly different way of doing things.

I had seen his headlight video a while ago and still have to try it. But it does look like it works really well, and it takes no time at all. Doing the same thing with a compound works too but just not as well, the aluminium polish probably has a lot more cut to it allowing for faster result. He uses it on the instrument cluster as well with very good results. I need to add Mother aluminium polish to my arsenal. I do have P21 metal soap but never use it, I wonder if it would do the same thing

Re: Some Extreme techniques that are kinda odd but......

I've used several of his methods that would seem unusual to most car detailers. Mothers on the headlights, on the paint; "orange shop soap" on the windshield; rain-x in the power window tracks; heat gun on plastic trim; 303 on tires, plastic trim, windshield wipers - and every single one has worked as shown. In the case of using Mothers mag and alum polish on my paint, it actually did not do as well as Megs ultimate compound but it did a fair job - no damage of any kind.
There are quite a few comments in various threads related to the detailing industry over-pricing products, over-hyping capabilities and generally making a boat-load of cash off us by "updating" products. This youtube channel has been a welcome addition to my detailing knowledge and I'm always willing to try something new...especially when I have the products on hand, don't have to order or over pay for them.
    YMMV.....
