The road grime the road salt is desolveing when applyied on the roads is much of oil based grime. To get that off the car cold degreaser is effective and with a alkaline degreaser on top of that when it's been dwelled enough. Get you a clean paint with the LSP left on if it's holding up to the degreasers used. Road salt is water soluble but it still clinging on the paint cause of what it's releasing on the road. I'm going more to the coating route know since it's stands up great to degreasers. Just need to not use the top alkaline products with ph level above 12-13 cause those is damaging the coating products. I always recommend when doing a decon wash you use first a tar remover and then an ironx product. And if you can get it a traffic film remover TFR which is alkaline based degreaser. This way you can revive coatings and some sealants to sheeting and beading water again. Sure it takes some on the longevity of it but if it's good chemical resistant lsp you will benefit in the longrun with self cleaning ability. Used Gyeon Wet Coat this winter and got about 2 months longevity with great self cleaning ability and was easy to reapply. It don't take away the need of touching the paint when washing. Like carpro reset after the prewash stage with the degreasers to get the last road grime of the car and it's releasing it easier when 2bm wash with it. This is not something I have come up with but is a well known method to use in Scandinavia winter months. Sonax makes this degreasers that is alkaline degreaser and cold degreaser. Think it has with the chemical mix it's not offered in the US. There is something called Salt Off which seems to be like a cold degreaser. And think that those tar remover which not is citrus based degreaser in a aerosol spray could be like a cold degreaser. Even when doing wheel decon cleaning you benefit to start with a tar remover and then an ironx product or an acidic based wheel cleaner. Different chemicals desolves different kind of dirt is what is behind this.
