    Car soaps - Anything new?

Im coming from the tried and trued Duragloss 901 soap, Ive used it for almost 5 years now. I think its time to try something else... I see these more boutique washes out there and wondering if Im missing out on something? Also Id like a soap that just cleans and leaves nothing behind. Id rather do that one my own. I have used Megs HW before, but looking for something else.

Any thing worth noting? I dont want to get too crazy cost wise, I guess around $40 a gallon? Even though thats not much of an indicator, as dilution rates would differ between manufactures.

Edited: I think Id like a soap that can be used in the sun and wont spot. I see McKees 37 Sio2 wash soap doesnt spot at all, but leaves something behind...

IMO, the best soap that leaves nothing behind is Car Pro Reset. It’s more than $40/gallon but the dilution ration is very good.

True, and I forgot to add this, Id like something that wont spot when used in the sun. McKees 37 Sio2 wash soap doesnt spot int he sun this making it a good candidate for me. BUT it does leave something behind....

I see Carpro reset will or could spot in the sun, thats a killer for me.

The Meguiar`s Citrus Blast Wash & Wax D113 allows you to save time by protecting your paint and cleaning it at the same time! This incredible formula combines high-quality carnauba wax and polymers along with a fantastic shampoo. The unique high-lubricity, lower-suds formula allows your wash mitt to easily glide across the surface, greatly reducing the risk of wash-induced swirl marks. This formula also quickly rinses away while conditioners and wax boost shine and leave behind a slick surface. The protective layer will last around 3-4 weeks, making it a great stand-alone protection product, or a topper to your favorite wax, sealant or coating. D113 dilutes to 128:1 (mix 1 ounce per gallon of water), giving you a great value out of every bottle.

I’ve never had it spot on me. I’ve actually washed entire cars before rinsing and not had spotting problems.

Nick never did say whether it does or not. But the description sure sounds like it does. From experience it did not alter any LSP I have used it on. I will note that SiO2 wash does not spot at all when washing in full sun. That is my experience with it. Their Xtreme Foam is nice as well.

The only other shampoo that comes to mind being able to use in the sun is from Adams.

I have had CarPro Reset leave residue before on a panel or two that was exposed to direct sun. Still a good wash especially for coated vehicles.

Megs Hyper Wash is always good and does a good job.

    What I use.

I don't know if I would trust any soap in the sun.
