Ordering new 5.5" pads SOON, need advice.
My supply of Meguiar's thin, 5.5" pads are finally wearing out and need replaced. I originally bought them here on AG, in 6-packs and I had ordered 6 polishing and 6 cutting pads. Between the two levels of 'aggressiveness,' I was able to do what I wanted/needed to do as far as correction and finishing.
Now, all I can find in a 6-pack is the "variety" pack, which contains 2 of each of the cutting/polishing/finishing pads. I don't have a use for the finishing pads, all I need are more cutting and polishing pads.
Lake Country does offer a "buyer's choice" 6-pack, but I have never used the Lake Country pads and I'm not sure which LC pads closest match the two Meguiar's pads I'm currently using, or how the LC pads, which I guess are "standard" thickness, perform compared to the thin pads.
So, I'm needing some guidance here. I'm probably going to order 12 of the Lake Country pads, but WHICH ONES?

LC pads are great, Don.
Look up the "Thin-Pro's".
"Your Choice" 6-pack for $45 as of today. ($7.50 per pad).
Get 6 Orange, and 6 White.
It is no coincidence that man's best friend cannot talk.

I went to the actual LC site and didn't see the 'thin pros.' I'll just order the ones you mentioned that AG shows on their store site.

It is done. I ordered 6 of the orange and 6 white. Can't wait to get them here and try them out.

The same tired old Porter Cable 7424 that I bought in 2002. Can't complain about it though. All I've ever had to do to it was have the cord replaced once.

Still my FAVORITE tool.
I'm not a big fan of those orange and white LC pads. I opted for green and blue Buff and Shine on that tool.
I also use the Buff and Shine URO-Tec foam and Uro-Fiber pads a lot.

If you're using a PC polisher, I think the ThinPro's were the right choice. They were my go-to pads when I still used my HF polisher.
Even after moving on to a G15 polisher, I still have a stock of ThinPro's in good shape and will continue to use them until they wear out and I replace them with something like the Rupes yellows.

Do the ThinPros or other thinner pads run hotter or cooler on a G9 etc then a typical thicker pad?
