Question Best way to apply hyper dressing to tires

Sure it has been covered, but I need a refresh on the best way to apply it. Spray it on the tires, let it soak, then give it a final wipe? Spray it on a tire applicator, then apply it? Best method for a even look, no sling.

    Thanks for the refresh.

Re: Best way to apply hyper dressing to tires

I used to spray whichever dressing I was using directly to the wheel. When I started using water based gels or liquids, I applied them directly to an applicator and haven't looked back since. I could never control the spray bottle enough I do have a 4:1 bottle of Hyper Dressing to mist in my engine bay. If I were to use Meguiar's HD on my wheels, I'd probably get the ratio I want or full strength and apply it with an applicator.

I dilute Hyper 50/50 and spray it directly on the tires. I let it sit for a while and setup then just wipe it with an applicator pad.

Ive started using D163 mixed with water as suggested by Dallas Auto Detailing and I spray it on the tire (real close and pull trigger lightly so it doesnt get on wheels) then wipe with my applicator of choice

I dilute it 1:1 and spray it on, wipe off after about 20 minutes. I'm about to quit using it though because I can't keep it from slinging. I talked to a detail shop a few days ago and he recommended using it undiluted to keep it from slinging. That's what I'm going to try next and if it's unsuccessful, I'll just quit using it on my tires.

I like how it looks and I have a gallon of it to use but my frustrations are running high with it.

I've never used Hyper Dressing but I remember seeing this video of a detailer applying it with a paint gun.

I use this brush to apply hyper at 2:1 ratio. I take black electrical tape and wrap the base of the bristles really tight so that the bristles don't flare out. I typically spray on brush and apply. Bigger tires i also spray some on the tire as well.

A lot of detailers will use Hyper Dressing because it's cheap. Durability = O first rain and its gone.

I gave this method a shot this morning. Just sprayed all the tires, then continued to dry off the vehicle. By then it set up really nice. Grabbed a old MF and gave the tires a final wipe down to even out the HD and remove any excess.
