Re: It feels like it's never going to end.....

Mike Phillips’ reviews and all the member’s reviews do a great job of selling products. I’ve slowed down considerably on my purchases. Once you get the right products that work for you and your cars. Your purchases can be limited to restocking or trying out a few new products. A lot of the members on here do this professionally, and need a large selection of products for the variety of cars they’re working on.

Mike even tells us: something to the effect of, “Find what you like and use it often”. Once those core products work for you, the differences between products are very subtle. Most of us don’t sit looking at our cars from 12 inches away. Use the 3-6 foot rule. If it looks great at 3-6 feet and it is a daily driver, call it good

Now, if you own a garage queen, show car, or worship your car as a lot of us do. Then you are screwed. You’ll be buying Scan Grip LEDs, 3-4 polishers, backing plates, pads galore, and enough polish to polish your car for decades

I do think the same. But I'm rather new in the research what's are going to work for me. With all the offerings of different ways to go with and new or solid products or the hidden gems. It's seems like a never ending story. I do have getting closer to what I like and have different options to work with if necessary.

This is why the 'Samples' thread is so cool...every once in a while you get a chance to trade for something you wanted to try.

To OP... I have ONR and Uber. They are both great. I wouldn't buy one because the other is not meeting my needs. The color and smell are the biggest differences ITO rinseless wash. There's the dilution for QD, but you have the better choice for that.

I have enough products to last me decades but I keep buying stuff. Enjoy it!

Buy something that works and stick with it..otherwise you will be chasing you tail...try small sample if you can obtain so you are not stuck with stuff that you will only use once..I have made same mistakes after joining ag about 3 years ago..but now I only stock on items that i use frequently..new products will flood the market nothing new..some might be slightly better than other but not game changing..my advise lose the red sponge if you are doing rinseless stick with microfiber towels..I honestly feel like higher end products and lower priced products can achieve the same results..one might be easier to work with than other but at higher cost..

    Hyperwash is great, no worries.

ONR is great stuff, but quite a few members here say Wolfgang Uber is even better. When I run out of ONR, I'm going to try Uber.

Be happy with your purchases and use them. Let me know if you use Uber as a rinse less wash, as that's what I use ONR for.

ONR is an oldie but goodie. I prefer Uber, it's the best rinseless on the market IMO.

The rabbit hole runs very deep. I have spent (wasted?) more money on detailing products than I will probably ever use up. You just have to determine how far down the hole you want to go. I have yet to find the bottom

I bought some optimum spray wax and then I saw something that lasts longer. Don't remember the name but it was also a spray wax that gets talked about here.
Next is my meguiars hyper wash I just bought.... I just learned about optimum onr and that big red sponge.
I thought I was set with the Wolfgang uber rinseless wash and the meg hyper wash but now I want to buy the onr
This isn't even counting my pc7424xp and chemical guy stuff. Now I also have a flex 3401 and lake pads and menzerna chemicals and lots of new pads.
I also just ordered a pair of griots pfm 16x16 towels and also some 3d towel clean forgetting I have 90% of a gallon of chemical guys microfiber wash lol

All this for just my cars.

Should I get the optimum onr or stick to my meg hyper wash and WG uber rinseless wash?
If you ask 10 detailers what the "best" products are, you will get 10 different answers. Most products are very good. Some are a little better than others but the difference is usually minimal. Do your research before you buy and if you like the product, there is no reason to switch to something else. Let's take Hyperwash for exemple... do you like it? If so, why would you want to throw it away and switch?

Here is what I do. When I read about something great that I don't have, I add it to my buy list. When I run out of the product I am using I order the new one. If it's something entirelly new that I do not have an equivalent for, and I think it would be useful, I add it to the next order I place. Otherwise, I wait for my current product to run out. If you don't do this, you will end up with countless products you never use and waste a ton of money.

I keep it simple. I just use collinite 476s every 8 months to a year, proper methods and care help extend the life of the wax
