    What is it?

Prepping a friend’s new (to him) 911 GTS Carrera for a coating, and tried to address a spot on the lower rocker in front of the passenger side rear tire. At first it looked like paint transfer to me, so I put some Pinnacle Paintwork Cleansing Lotion on a microfiber applicator pad and started rubbing...

Now it looks like this! Could it be bondo or something? Not sure what to do now, could use some help...

Can't see how a non abrasive paint cleaner could remove the paint. Do you have a paint gauge? Might tell you if it's a repair or not.

Looks like damaged fiberglass to me.
It is no coincidence that man's best friend cannot talk.

No, unfortunately I don’t have a paint gauge (just a hobbyist).

I think there may have been some sort of glaze covering the blemish. I could see just a little bit of the beige showing when I started, and the spot looked like it was on top of the paint so I assumed it was a scuff of some type. I had a bit of black on my microfiber applicator after rubbing it. I’m guessing the purple is residual touch up paint or glaze that the dealer had used to mask it that has now started coming off from the paint cleaner?

Al, your friend may be in for a costly repair. Hope there aren't anymore cover ups.

That is crazy looking. Like others have said, looks like some kind of cobbled-up repair.

That is a chip touch up. I would just touch it up and move on. Let him know, but it may not be a super big issue to him. Do you know if he had a ppi on the car?

I wish I could “just touch it up and move on,” but I don’t have any Porsche touch up paint or Dr. Colorchip for it.

    What is ppi?
