How often should you wax your car?
Good Afternoon,
First time posting here.
I have just bought a new 2018 Honda Accord, i was wondering how often should I wax my car. I use meguiar liquid gold quick wax.

Re: How often should you wax your car?
That is an up to you call. Some will say 3 to 6 months or longer. Some will say use a sealant or coating. If you enjoy detailing like I do, then my guess maybe once or twice per 6-weeks. I average about 3 weeks per waxing or sealant.
A coating may be good for the people that don't like detailing as much. It will last longer. Easier to maintain in many cases, however, LIKE ALL types of LSP's they have their issues too.
But I say if you enjoy detailing then wax when you deem your ride needs it. It can't hurt it if done right only help!
Pics when done please

Re: How often should you wax your car?
General framework....
Wax = 1 month
Sealant = 6 months
Coatings = 1 year up to 2 years
These are just rough timelines. Some are longer and some are shorter.

Re: How often should you wax your car?
About the best rule of thumb I would say is, "as often as possible".
I think it's very hard to place a steadfast rule of exact time on any given product, regardless of said claims, considering different weather conditions, road conditions of dirt, grime, bugs, salt, number of washings, other products used, etc.
One example I'll give, is let's take Collinite #476 Super Doublecoat Paste Wax. Well, actually it's not solely a wax, but said to be a Hybrid Wax-Sealant, and it is a very good, and very long lasting product with little peer indeed.
Now on a pampered garage queen show vehicle that gets driven only on sundays on dry temperate days, yeah I might say the product "might" be there a year later. On a daily driver and harsher conditions I'd perhaps say 3 months, 4 months max before you'll start losing some of its protective qualities and should be re-applied.
Just some food for thought.

Welcome to AGO!
You can wax it when you notice the water beads are not as tight and uniform as when you first waxed it.

IMO:
It’s hard to dispute what Mike Phillips
says about this “how often to Wax
your vehicle” subject. For example:
_______________________________________
•”Meguiar's generally recommends
3-4 times per year, minimum, for
good protection.”
•”If you want to talk about eye
dazzling show car results, then I
would recommend waxing often.”
•”If you always want your vehicles
finish to look it's best, then wax often.”
-“By that I mean every other week,
or every other washing. If you do this,
your finish should always be at or near
its maximum potential.”
•”Point being, if you always want your
finish to look it’s best, then”:
-“find something you like,
and use it often.”

Re: How often should you wax your car?
If you are going to stick with the Meguiar's liquid gold quick wax spray I would suggest that you apply a new coat after each wash (assuming you'll be washing it about every 2 weeks) but not more than a month. You can totally keep your car protected with nothing more than spray waxes you just have to keep up on reapplying them.

Re: How often should you wax your car?
Paste or liquid, i apply once a month. So every 4th wash. Even when i was using collinite, i stuck with this once a month routine.
For spray waxes, i apply weekly.
Now, i use ONRWW as my “soap” weekly. And optimum car wax monthly. I find that this combination is fine.
