You will see lots od various techniques and tips about rinseless washing. I was in a spot wherein i cannot decide what to actually do. So my tip is, do what makes sense in your world and if it makes you happy and efficient, stick with it.

I have not seen staining with ONRWW. Not sure with other rinseless washes.

Just try to enjoy the journey. My quest of looking for products and techniques in autogeek kept me sane a few months ago when i was starting to get frustrated with my regular job.

For me... coated car, never. Maybe a coating friendly wash with some sort of Si02 in it.

Non-coated? As often as you like. I would probably use a spray waxy 1-2 times per month if weather permitted it. All about what you like to do and what look you want on your car.

How often you re-apply wax all comes down to how the paint is touched.

If the car is garage kept and hardly driven then you don't need to re-wax very often.

If the car is washed often with a brick or run through a brush-style automatic car wash then you'll need to wax more often.

Touching the surface will tend to micro-abrade off the wax.

    Make sense?

Also - if you want your car to look like it was just waxed (the detailed look), then just wax your car.

I'd recommend reading these two articles, while this first one references a car with a ceramic paint coating, the principals of washing carefully apply to all cars if the goal is to prevent and/or reduce wash and drying induced scratching.

How to wash a coated car - The Gentle Approach for Washing a Car by Mike Phillips

It takes HOURS to buff out a car and remove all the swirls and scratches. It only takes minutes, even seconds to put scratches into the paint.

Probably the most valuable article and video I've ever made and yet such a small detail in the big picture.

I rinseless wash 1x everyweek if weather permits. Spray wax while drying everytime, and opti-seal 1x a month.

You have great taste in the color of your car. BLACK! Or in this case I believe the Honda paint to be a Metallic Black. I had a 2010 Honda Civic SI in that color! Keep on rocking and it looks like you are getting a lot of feedback which is very helpful...especially from the ORACLE, Mike Phillips.
