How to correct paint chips

I know its not polish or wax but I have a couple highway chips and need help on correcting them. I know I can get a matched paint pen from Nissan, but do I just dab a little on the chip and let it be? I don't want it look like a bubble of paint, id like it to be flush with the rest of the paint. And is there any clear coat I should add or do i just do my normal wash / wax and it will protect that area fine ?

Look into Dr Color Chip. If your looking into doing a 1st class job, you need touch up paint and it will involve wet sanding and polishing.

Not sure what you mean? Are you implying to use Dr. Colorchip or to use touch-up paint? Cause using Dr. Colorchip is far better than using regular touch-up paint and sanding, with the risk of losing clear.

Depends, if your doing a bunch of stone chips or road rash, Dr Chip is ok. However, if your repairing deep scratches, other than a repaint, a good detailer can do a good job with touch up paint and wet sanding. It won't be perfect, but better than using Dr. Chip.

I don't think you are supposed to wet sand dr colorchip. What if its factory clear coat? You shouldn't wet sand factory clear ive been told

I didn't say to wet sand Dr. Colorchip. I meant either or. I've wet sanded factory clear many times, but not without a paint gauge. If you know what your doing..wet sanding is no more aggressive than using a heavy compound and a cutting pad on a DA.

I like that tool.

It's hard to find a small brush that is precise enough for small chips. I've used thing like toothpicks and the like in lieu of a brush before but this tool looks like the ticket.
