With a all in one, I think the longevity of protection might depend on how much the product is worked also, maybe not.

That's very possible, I did apply by machine with 4 section passes.

That's something I've thought about for a while, I haven't seen much mention about it for all in ones but you would think, if the product is worked extensively, it might do mess with the properties of the sealant

Yea, RippyD made mention of it in an earlier post, about if it needed to be heat activated it was in trouble because he applied by hand lol. I'm wondering if maybe that is a bigger factor than we realize?

Which is why I'm really liking the DG501. I know it can last a Michigan winter.

I used One-Step-Sealant on my truck and it's still beading great, however it gets washed weekly & I use Griot's Spray Wax as a drying aid. I'm guessing it's actually the spray wax giving me the beading action

I'm starting to think that the time allowed to haze on the paint prior to wiping it off plays an important role in the longevity of an AIO. I believe I heard a Meguiars rep say something about that in regards to their new D166, and in my initial testing of it I did notice the beading was next to non existent on the panels where I treated it more like a compound vs. the panels where I gave it adequate time to haze.

I gave all the non-WOWOs time to haze. At least 15 minutes unless they weren't completely dry, then longer. One of them specified longer in the instructions, which I followed. (If I recall that was Sonus Ion.) Drying time for the non-WOWOs wasn't an issue.

Have two weeks of updates in this post. Didn't get a chance to do this last week and could not get a good pic. White is tough trying to show water in flat light.

I checked it on Nov 7th, first washing with McKee's N-914 at rinseless dilution. All 4 products on the right side of the hood were doing well. 845 is sheeting water the fastest, but the others aren't far behind. DG 105 and Sonax PNS working more slowly. WG DGS still hanging on, but water is moving off it very slowly. Note that this was done at 34 degrees. Didn't know if that would have impacted water movement. Everything is showing no water movement after 30 seconds or so. Note that when it rains they all bead well and similarly. However, I also can't easily differentiate tape lines. So not sure how to read that.

Checked today as well when it was about 50 degrees out. Same results today: 845 FK1000, Track Claw, DG 111 all doing well. DG 105 and Sonax PNS working but more slowly than the other 4. WG DGS still hanging in.

This was taken right after flooding with water. You can see the right side is clear and tape lines are visible. You can see water still moving off for the other three sections. No visible water moving on the rest of the hood. I washed with Reset at 500:1 before testing.


One more note: I have another 10 or so products to try. I'll get those on the Sentra hood and roof in the next day or two and leave it in a heated garage overnight to cure.
