Re: Sealant comparison
Awesome RippyD!
Another great comparison to follow how it goes. Very interesting to see how Collinite 915 is holding up against the others. Have often thought about to get it.
And thanks again for shareing your testing with us!

Re: Sealant comparison
Pressure washed with water, washed with CarPro Reset, and rinsed a pressure washer before testing.
Rover update (driver and passenger side)
- CanCoat doing ok (surprisingly well, to be honest)
- Polish Angel Cosmic - slowed way down - will likely be done next time
- MS #5 passenger and driver sides doing well
- DG coating passenger and driver sides doing well
- Collinite 845 - doing ok
- Track Claw - doing ok
- Sonus SFX-4 - doing ok
- Finish Kare 1000P - doing ok
- Duragloss 104 - doing ok
- Collinite 845 - doing ok
The 6 new products are working well, but are a little slower than I expected. I expected immediate sheeting. It's taking a few seconds with all of them.
I also applied 4 spray-on-hose-off products to the Sentra a week before this test. When I tested then they all failed. I'm calling this installation error. I either over pressure-washed them, or they got rained on too soon after installation. Either way, I'll re-apply those and start over.

It will be interesting to see how the new graphene products compare to all the new Ceramic bases ones

Re: Sealant comparison
The Rover was filthy. Pressure washed first then washed with Carpro Reset and a Big Red Sponge.
Rover update (driver and passenger side)
- CanCoat doing ok
- Polish Angel Cosmic is done. It held on well. It may now be only outrageously expensive and not ridiculously expensive
- MS #5 passenger and driver sides doing ok - a little slowing
- DG coating passenger and driver sides doing well
- Collinite 845 doing well. The fastest clearing of all the sealants on this side
- Track Claw - getting slow
- Sonus SFX-4 - getting slow
- Duragloss 104 - doing well. The second fastest clearing and just a little behind 845
- Collinite 915 - doing ok and better than Track Claw and SFX-4. A little surprised it's already slower than 845

Re: Sealant comparison
It's funny you say 915 is fading. Back in 2017 we were in Minot ND where my SIL is stationed along with my Daughter and now two Grandsons. I polished her car and finished up with 915. Two years later we are in Minot for the second Grandson. The Daughter delivered a part to me and it was raining of course (seems to do a lot of that there) and all of the horizontal panels were beading like crazy. Couldn't tell on the vertical panels as they were encrusted in dirt, sand and whatever else they use on the roads in the winter up there. The car is a dark bronze metallic and I was thoroughly amazed at the beading and told the daughter that no wax should last this long especially one that has not been washed or touched in two years. I cleaned the car and re-applied 915 again in the Summer of 2019, I do not expect to be back there for two years or have any idea what will happen. Anyway the moral of the story is that 915 apparently lasted two years and of all places Minot ND.

Agree. 915 should be doing at least as well. Maybe I had an application issue on my part?

Re: Sealant comparison
Noticed an issue with the spreadsheet earlier today. A typo was keeping all the data from showing in the first graph. Now fixed. Link in my sig.

Re: Sealant comparison
I keep forgetting how challenging it is to test products in the winter. Washed the Rover with CarPro reset: pressure washed, washed using a Big Red Sponge, and pressure washed to rinse. It's hard to see what's happening in the videos. I added some timings. These are more relative than exact measurements.
In all cases below the sealants applied with DG 601 are performing more slowly. In some cases a little slower and more significantly in others. This is is interesting and unexpected (to me). Performance below is for the sealants directly on the paint (no 601 applied first).
Rover update (driver and passenger side)
- CanCoat slowing down but still working - clearing in ~6 seconds
- MS #5 passenger and driver sides doing ok - clearing in ~6-7
- DG coating passenger and driver sides doing well - clearing in ~5 seconds
- Collinite 845 doing well. Still clearing faster than anything else at ~2 seconds
- Track Claw ~8 seconds
- Sonus SFX-4 ~12 seconds
- Finish Kare 1000p ~8 seconds
- Duragloss 104 ~5 seconds
- Collinite 915 ~7 seconds
Most of these are still working well. SFX-4 is slowing more than the others. For the driver side doors, they are performing in this order (fastest at the top):
- Collinite 845
- DG 104
- Collinite 915
- Track Claw and Finish Kare 1000
- SFX-4
I'm surprised to see 845 doing so much better than everything else performance-wise. We'll see how it holds up relative to the others.

Re: Sealant comparison
Been a few weeks since I updated this. Holidays, dark and cold out, busy at work... just couldn't find the time to do some tests. Too long of a testing break, but here we are.
I pressure washed the Rover first. The pw removed almost nothing - a lot of road grime from constant rain and a couple of days with snow. I washed with Carpro Reset and and Big Red Sponge. Had to go over some areas more than once. Then rinsed with the pw.
Rover update (driver and passenger side)
- CanCoat has slowed considerably - still working and clearing in ~20 seconds
- MS #5 is done on the driver's side, still working on the passenger side (~25 seconds)
- DG coating passenger and driver sides has slowed - clearing in ~15 seconds
- Collinite 845 doing well. Still clearing faster than anything else at ~5 seconds
- Track Claw is done
- Sonus SFX-4 is done
- Finish Kare 1000p is barely hanging on - clearing in ~30 seconds
- Duragloss 104 clearing in ~10 seconds
- Collinite 915 appears to be done - this is one I'll need to re-test
Surprising to see Collinite 915 not working as it's widely reported to be more durable than 845. Maybe an application issue? I will also try retesting it to make sure it's really done.
Collinite 845 continues to lead the sealants, which is similar to what I've seen previously. DG 104 is hanging in there as well.
