    Hydrofoam and waterless washing

    Hello all!

Been a long time lurker but never got around to registering until now. Seeing as the the forum and people seem to be very knowledgable and helpful, i decided to join! With that being said, ive searched for an answer to my question and just cant seem to find it:

After applying hydrofoam to the paint, is it OK to clean the paint with a waterless wash between regular washes? Like most of you, i just cant stand a dirty car. My car is not my daily driver but i do use it 2-3 times a week, and i always give it a waterless wash before going out if its not extremely dirty, which in most cases, never is.

How do i know which WW can i use between regular washes and hydrofoam coatings? How do i know which ones not to use? Any recommendations as to which soaps to use for regular washes?

im an avid ultima WW user, and use carpro echo as a rinseless wash as i find it leaves more streaks than id like as a waterless wash. Im also looking into using the trinova brand WW in the near future. For soap i either use CG mr pink or zymol auto wash.

Looking forward to replies and any wisdom you guys can share!

You sure can. Use a WW that leaves nothing behind like McKees 37 N-914. For regular washes, use CarPro Reset. Using these products, you will not alter the hydrophobic properties of the HydroFoam coating.

Thanks, Wrapt! Leaving nothing behind means no waxes or fillers i assume?

if so, ill do more research on WW's.

Correct. No wax, gloss enhancers, etc....

You don't have to use products that leave nothing behind, but it's my preference for sure. I like to see my LSP do it's job in an unaltered way.

Last question for now: What about ultima ww which is polycharger boosted? Would that be considered an "additive" which would not work well with hydrofoam? I searched but couldnt find a straight answer.

UWW will definitely leave something behind. I highly doubt it wouldn't have any negative effect over hydrofoam. It may change the hydrophobic properties of the coating wash, which isn't "wrong". It all comes down to user preference.

    You got it!

I love HydroFoam!! So efficient to use and leaves behind a barrier of great protection. Granted, it does not last as long as a traditional coating, but it's so much faster to apply, so no big deal.
