Question Best Wax/Sealant for "Wet Look' for "Pearl White" car?

    Hey All,

So I've been trying several things, but I really haven't been too pleased with the results so far.
I have a Pearl White car... and looking for the best (and long lasting) wet looking wax/sealant.

I currently use JaxWax liquid carnauba wax every few months, and weekly use Meguiars X-Press spray wax.
    Currently not using a sealant.

I use ONR waterless wash roughly every week to clean the car.

    Sealant:
I've been reading and it seems a lot of people are pleased with the way Wolfgang Deep Gloss Sealant 3.0 works (deep wet look & lasts roughly 6-months)
If you guys had to pick a deep color wet-looking SEALANT which lasts a long time... which would you pick?
    (don't care about water beading)

    Weekly Waxes:
I was hoping to use a really quick liquid carnauba or synthetic spray wax... but not sure which one would give that nice deep-gloss and wet look.
    Any suggestions?
    (don't care about water beading)

The plan is to use a deep-gloss sealant 2-3 times per year... and use a wax as a routine protectant.

Have you tried switching to ONR wash and wax to maintain the wax look? It leaves behind an amazing wax look that lasts a month or two without any toppers.

As for sealants WG as you mentioned comes to mind as well as Jescar power lock or even stick with Optimum and try Opti seal. Also a great product that leaves a wet look.

Best Wax/Sealant for "Wet Look' for "Pearl White" car?

When's the last time you "cleaned" aka clayed & polished the paint? That's the 1st place you should start when looking to achieve a wet shiny look on pearl white paint.

Well I have been super happy with Blackfire Wet Diamond All Paint Sealant, McKees 37 Hi Def Sealant and Griot's PolyWax. All make the Paint slick as can be (assuming you've already properly decontaminated and prep'ed the Paint). Once you apply and remove it, you will be amazed at how slick Paint can feel, and stays that way for a long time. Slight edge to Hi Def for Paint slickness and gloss level. Although you mentioned water beading wasn't a concern for you, you will be more than happy in that regard as well.

As far as a spray topper for weekly washes, Blackfire Carnauba Midnight Sun, McKees 37 Fast Wax, Pinnacle SouverN Spray Wax, Pinnacle Crystal Mist, Griot's Spray On Wax or Griot's Best of Show Detailer are all on my shelf and any would mKe an excellent weekly topper. Your car will look amazing with that routine.

    Good luck,
    ScottH

What kind of car is it? Do you have a DA polisher?

    After you have completed whatever
    decontamination and polishing steps
    that you have deemed necessary...

Use this product for Gloss Galore!

McKee's 37 Jeweling Wax For your dual action or rotary polisher.

I have a pearl white Prius. It wasn't until I decontaminated with clay before I got the look you are seeking. 476s and weekly ONR&W with Optimum spray wax on the horizontal surfaces. I wash weekly.

Forgot to mention... the car is a 2017 Civic Hatchback - Orchid White.

I don't have the wax version because I also use it as a clay lube and need a non-wax version in case I need to do any paint correction.
I still use a IPA solution, but no wax makes it easier.

I clayed the hood several weeks ago when I self-installed 3M PPF on my entire hood ($150 total! ).
I do need to clay the side panels and door... can feel it pretty rough like sand paper in certain areas.
Plan on doing that once I decide on a Sealant to buy.

Have you ever tried Meguiars X-Press Spray Wax before?

Re: Best Wax/Sealant for "Wet Look' for "Pearl White" car?

I have a 2017 MB CLS550 in Diamond White, which I assume is another name for "pearl white". It is a beautiful color paint which shines in the sun and sparkles under night lights. This is my second Mercedes in this color and over the years I have tried a lot of stuff. The recommendation to prep the car is important no matter what color it is but especially on white which needs all the help it can get to "pop". One of the very best products to start with after your wash and clay is P21S Paintwork Cleanser. This is a German product that cleans the paint chemically, it is not an abrasive polish (I assume you need no real correction step).

My car cost a whole lot of money so I will tell you now that spending a few hundred on detailing stuff may sound high to some but for this car I think it is worth it. The best results I have achieved (but not by much) has been with Polish Angel. I have used their carnaubaflockencreme-snowwhite, which gives long lasting, glossy results. As a topper, I use Polish Angel High Gloss. Pretty insane shine when you combine them on white paint.

But as I said, these Polish Angels are expensive and I got almost as good results on diamond white paint with these combinations: Duragloss 111 and 601 topped with AquaWax about every third wash or so. This is for a candy apple look which, although somewhat antiseptic, it appeals to a lot of people. A little richer look (which might be better for a real "pearl" white) can be achieved using Sonax Net Polymer Shield with their Brilliant Shine as a topper or booster coat now and then. The deepest look of all that I have found comes from Optimum Spray Wax, the least durable of all these but the easiest to apply.

Dollar for dollar I still say Collinite 845 applied twice a year with the occasional "booster" of 845 sprayed from a mister bottle is as good on a richer white color paint as you will find - and one of the most durable.Best Wax/Sealant for "Wet Look' for "Pearl White" car?-cls-detail-polish-angel-008-jpgBest Wax/Sealant for "Wet Look' for "Pearl White" car?-cls-detail-polish-angel-005-jpgBest Wax/Sealant for "Wet Look' for "Pearl White" car?-cls-detail-polish-angel-004-jpgBest Wax/Sealant for "Wet Look' for "Pearl White" car?-cls-detail-polish-angel-003-jpgBest Wax/Sealant for "Wet Look' for "Pearl White" car?-cls-detail-polish-angel-008-jpgBest Wax/Sealant for "Wet Look' for "Pearl White" car?-cls-detail-polish-angel-005-jpgBest Wax/Sealant for "Wet Look' for "Pearl White" car?-cls-detail-polish-angel-004-jpgBest Wax/Sealant for "Wet Look' for "Pearl White" car?-cls-detail-polish-angel-003-jpg
