Surface Prep For Paint Coating - How Perfect?

I'm working on my final polish before applying Gyeon Mohs coating to a black Dodge Challenger.

No matter what I do, however, there's always a little dust and lint left on the paint after I wipe it down with GTechniq Panel wipe and two Gyeon MF Towels. One to wipe and the other to buff. The surface looks perfect under normal lighting, but the dust and lint are very evident when I put a spot light on it. I've pre-washed the towels and go over them with a lint roller before using. I've also tried the Gyeon Prep as is recommended, but it doesn't seem to work very well. I've used some other MF towels, cheap to expensive, but they leave an incredible amount of lint behind.

Will this minimal amount of dust and lint be an issue or is this normal before such paint coatings? I assume it will get embedded in the coating for however long it lasts.

    Appreciate any info.

Have you tried a final wipe with a suede towel?

    Edit: misread your post.

A suede towel or a towel meant for glass would be a great final wipe for you.

No, I didn't think of that, but I see the CarPro MF suede towels in the store. I think I'll try it out. As the coating is applied with a small suede cloth makes sense to wipe it before and after with the same.

Yes, I've pre-washed and gone over them front and back with a lint roller.

My garage is a little dusty, so I keep a clean MF towel handy when applying the coating. Right before I apply the coating, I go over the area one last time VERY gently to remove any dust that might have landed after I did my prep wipe down.

I wipe with Eraser and then right before I lay the coating I take my master blaster to the car and dust it once more.

Great info, thanks so much. I'll be trying suede towels, working in small areas and blowing the dust away. Don't have a Master Blaster but an air compressor should do the job.
