either way, i'll adjust ..it's a smooth machine whether it be a 5.5 Thin pro or an oversized/weight 6.5 Low pro

I hope to do some correction video compairsons this week. I Would like to see if it corrects better then my G21, like Rupes is claiming their Mille will do against their 21mm Mark2

to me it's not worth paying that much ($300+) if it's most effective in one mode and not so much in the other. buying it for that reason defeats the purpose of the machine. also, it doesn't come with different size backing plates like the flex does which allows you to use different size pads as well. i know many don't like the walking on the flex, but there are many who don't have issues with it either. look forward to your videos...

I haven't did any comparisons between my PO5000c, 3401 or G21 yet...but so far found out PO5000c on speed 5 just jiggles and doesn't rotate...but speed 3-4 it has great rotation.
In forced mode it works great
.still not sure I like it better then my G21 but def love it compared to my 3401
I just put a piece of tape on my Makita 5000 backing plate and ran it in forced rotation and free spin mode on speed 5 and it and it Rotated (orbit). Are you sure yours wasn't rotating on speed 5? Which mode was the tool in?

yes it was in free spin, I sharpied my backing place it clearly wasnt spining(just jiggle) in speed 5, i was on vertical flat fender section of a scion XB..bump down to speed 4 or 3 and rotated like a motha

    in forced, it obviously rotates

Random orbit mode with the Makita is relatively worthless. The forced mode is great. Very smooth, but you need to use the correct pads.

Glad to hear yours spun on speed 5 as it sounded very odd that it would be designed otherwise. Check back in tomorrow after you test again.

Buy this machine for the forced rotation. The random orbit mode is terrible. I was going to sell my GG 6" random orbital, but I'm going to keep it now.
