    5.5" pads

A friend of mine who is moving overseas gave me a virtually new Griots Random Orbital 6" polisher with an additional 5" backing plate. He also gave me a dozen brand new (still in plastic) 5.5" pads(two of each color, yellow, white, blue). I already have same Griots 6" unit that I use. Why are these 5.5" pads so much thinner than 6.5" pads I'm used to? They are like half as thick as the 6.5" pads I use.

    Thanks

Most new pads are coming out thinner, as Mike says thin is in. You get great correct from them and they spin better on the unit. I'd stick to the thin pads, I'm moving over to the thin myself for all my polishers and love them

He also gave me a brand new bottle of CG VSS. Its time to polish/seal my car and I think I'm going to try it. Don't want to high jack my own thread but can I use BF Crystal Seal on top of the VSS?
