I REALLY like the look of these new Lake Country lambswool pads for a Flex 3401

Generally speaking, a lambswool pad cuts very well on a forced rotation machine. However, these LC pads take it to a new level. The foam interface will really amp up the smoothness and cutting power(allowing more efficient pressure applied). I like the centering hole for cooling as well. I'm going to venture and say, these may be the best cutting pads to ever come out for a Flex 3401. I just ordered some.

Sorry to bring up an old thread but has anyone purchased and had significant time using these? I thought I'd share my limited experience.

I snagged a couple on the last 25% off sale and recently used them on two vehicles. Tool of choice was my 3401. Up until these pads, my 3401 only got used for really curvy stuff where I needed to save time over my XFE7. In all honesty, I'd reach for my XFE7 and uro-fiber pads for most of my light/medium correction type work.

Got these in the mail and did a small test spot on a pearl red mkz. It wasn't scheduled for correction, just a basic wash/clay/sealant, but it had some baked in water spots on the hood that would make for a great test. 3401, lambswool pad and m100 made short work of the spots. Speed 5 was used for the initial passes with medium downward pressure, and then speed 4 and light pressure. What I wasn't prepared for, however, was the finish quality. Little to none micro marring or haze left behind. M100 finished fantastically on this particular paint.

The next day I did a light correction for a friend who was going out of town and wanted his '15 dark grey Camry spiffed up for the trip. Car had light to moderate wash scratches and a couple RIDS. Did a test spot with HD cut+ on the hood and it was sauce. Completed with car with HD cut+ only. For kicks, I polished out the hood with m205, Black force pad on my XFE with no noticeable difference in clarity. Again, these lambswool pads finish fantastic! My friend ( a long time body worker) couldn't believe the results we got in one step, especially on the finishing end with a compound!

Needless to say, this far I have been VERY impressed. Im excited to try these on a few more vehicles, especially with heavier damage that may need the PE14. Another thing, these pads seem to give the 3401 user a much more "fluid" experience. The tool itself doesn't "pull" as much with these pads and feels much more controlled- which is nice with the 3401. I have to say, for initial cut, my 3401 equipped with one of these may be my new "go to."

My results have been very similar. They cut very well, finish extremely well and make my 3401 feel like it got a tune up. I use the hybrid wool a lot and have been more than happy with them but these "limited edition" wools are top shelf!

Combo of a spur and compressed air for me. I found the first use is quite linty, but still a fraction of what a twisted wool pad produces.

I did switch pads half way through that Camry. I wasn't lacking cut necessarily, but the HD cut+ had started gumming up the pad quite a bit.

A trip to the wash tub, warm water and a little finger scrubbing, spin dry and these pads are good to go!
