Loctite 5452. Too many people don't know how to use teflon tape for threads. Also teflon tape has a high probability of having pieces breaking off and getting clogged in things.
Only thing teflon tape is good for is stainless on stainless fittings to prevent gauling and still be able to get the fitting apart.

    Bill -

    Try this....

Take the book and lay the body of the lance ontop of it on the floor.
Get 22mm Wrench (I just grabbed a coupler I had to see what size - it may not be 22mm).
Hold the Body of the Lance down against the book that is on floor
The current Karchet Bayonet that is on it, leave it hanging off the side of the book - the purpose of the book was to raise it up so it was not flush with the floor so that the ~side nubs~ on the bayonet would not impede you turning the damm thing

    Take a slow breath
Hold the body of the lance down with your left hand
Steady the wrench on the Silver/Chrome Couple. Unscrew it off the body
    Good luck
