$6,000 reasons not to use a automatic car wash
Guy takes new aluminum body Ford F-150 through tunnel wash and brush gets caught on antenna, rips hole in fender and beats up truck. In defense of the car wash it was the truck owner's fault for not removing the antenna. Still I think the car wash should be liable for all the swirls they create Keeps a lot of you pros busy.

I have to use the automated touchless wash during WI winters from time to time. Growing up I was always warned to stay away from the brushes and rotating swirl-o-matics.

I would never suggest those old style spinning car washes ... I have shared here (in the past) the story about kids in Key West tying bolts to the nylon strings so that they slap against a car while being cleaned. All sorts of damage "could" happen, its best to wait until you can wash yourself.

But it is Military grade aluminum. When was the last time you saw an aluminum tank.

Deosnt amaze me I see Highend cars all the time running through them. Its the 5.99 wash price and a 48 hr rain check that draws them.

Re: $6,000 reasons not to use a automatic car wash
Some 20 years ago I decided to run my single stage Chevrolet Blazer with nearly perfect paint through a "touchless" car wash. The chemicals that they used were so strong that it oxidized the paint with that one wash. I was able to bring the paint back but have not been through one since.
