I'm not really sure how it happened. Can't tell if I got these while I was driving or not. Tried everything from clayed bar, 50/50 alcohol-water, bug remover and had no success.
It almost look like and feel like dry candy apple skin. Any ideas?
Those look a whole lot like iron spots. Are they on the rear end of the car? Give Iron-X a go, it shouldn't hurt the coating. I bet that's the culprit....
x4 for Iron X. Tons of fallout like that from brakes, construction, etc. I vote metal flakes.

The time since last use doesn't really matter, no way of knowing what source of contamination may have been in proximity to your vehicle....
Do a small spot and see if you get a response..
