    Give this video a look.

The only thing I do differently, is only use 4 drops of product to start, and reload with 2 or 3, depending on the size of the section. I don't season the pad with product. With FG 400, I might spritz it with Meguiar's m34, but that's if the weather is really hot and humid. I also use "moderate" pressure, because I want that back plate to spin as fast as possible.

You could also experiment with speeds of you have time. Speed 4.5-5 might get you more polish time with the larger abrasive clusters, before they begin to break down. This might require firmer pressure, but shouldn't be so much that you're drastically slowing the pad down.

    Here's the video:

Is it Jet Black or the non metallic Black. the regular Black is so soft you look at it you get swirls. The Jet is a little harder paint. The Menz 400 or SIP 1500 works good on the Paint for me. I use a orange Pad or Yellow LC. I crank up the Pc to 5 or 6. It seem to work with 5 to 6 passes. Then I follow up with White Pad and Menz 4500. On a 2 pr 3 speed. Also I like to change pads more often with the Black. I actually like using my Flex with the Porsche Black more. You will love the car. The Caymans are great

Generally for any kind of major correction, the PC has to be at 6. 5 won't really do the job unless you're just using a finishing polish and a finishing pad. I've found that on even soft Mazda paint, 6 will do the correction with a compound after 6 to 8 passes but 5 will do only some correction.

It is regular black. Don't think Porsche call it Jet black.

I think I made some progress using the tips (1"/s, speed 6, moderate pressure and 6 to 8 passes) but not complete success. I also switched to cyan HT pad. I'll take another shot it tomorrow. Thank you all for the tips!. Rupes mini will be any better? I guess its my technique that needs to improve...

So, I might actually be able to help you here. I've had a black 996 cab for several years and I was never able to really get it right. I tried combination after combination, but have never been satisfied. This is what finally worked for me:

Menzerna Super Intensive Polish with orange Lake Country 5.5" Smart Pads

Menzerna Super Finish 4500 with white Lake Country 5.5" Smart Pads

Black Fire Wet Diamond All Finish Paint Protection with black Lake Country Smart Pads

7424 on 5 for the first two steps - Medium pressure on the first step. Just the weight of the machine for the other two

Ridiculous how nicely the car came out. Give it a shot and see what you think.

4500 will give you a better finish. Do a test area with 4000 and see if it's acceptable to your eyes.

I think I'm going to stick with FG400/LC Cyan HT. Couple of shots of the hood area I worked on. Either I'm pretty bad at taking pics or it came out well. I realize I've some deeper scratches (RIDS?). Swirls, minor scratches and a hologram (yeah!) were almost gone. My son (12 years) who discovered the hologram says its gone now...

Is it safe to for another round using FG400? How do you wipe off after SF4000? I used Carpro eraser for inspection after FG400.

    And, thank you all again!
