    louvers on hot-rod hood

Did an inspection and quote for a 32 Ford Coup..
Was wondering what the hot-rod specialists do regarding polishing around the louvers on the hood?
Since I don't have an iBird nano, my assumption is to tape them off and gingerly use Mike's tilting technique to get between the rows of Louvers, using a 4" pad...

1 inch or 2 inch pad on a rotary is what id do. The Nano is a great tool but its only one way to solve the problem.

All good suggestions Paulie. Hand, small 1-2" polisher (may add one to your arsenal now!) or with MP's tilt method.

Can't wait to see the finished product!!!

Just a small point on the large pad tilt technique.. (which i use and like alot)

A larger pad presents a broader ie flatter and larger area of pad, but it is travling relatively faster for a given rpm..

So IME I drop the machine rpm a little and run slightly quicker lighter passes, especially as you have edges and tighter radii concentratig the load.. even considered dropping a pad hardness once but wasn't neccessary..

And if I get super paranoid I go to hand.. .

    All the best..

I would just do it by hand.unless it's really marred up.The colors are light with the exception of a little black.machine polishing those louvers isn't gonna make a huge improvement.you need the Ibrid it's the best tool for pretty much anything worth every cent.
