Paint coating on rims
If I use m37 paint coating on rims will it work? Not stick at all, or just not last as long?

I bet it would work. If the clear coat on the rims is the same as the paint i don't see why it wouldn't work. I don't know maybe like you mentioned it might not last as long

It'll be fine but don't expect the usual one or two years out of it.its why the specifically made wheel coatings have slightly different chemical make ups than paint coatings.

I've tested paint coatings on clear coated wheels... they will work out great, and with good maintenance the hydrophobic properties will last quite a while.
