That's really strange. I've been using Opti Seal for over six years and I've never had any problems with any residue or smearing.

I would stick with Opti-seal also. Search youtube for Yvans multiple uses and you will see why. I use it mainly as a drying aid and LOVE it, no streaking

I've had it for over a year and have applied it countless time, it's a great deal for the money, I guess I just want to see what else I can throw my money at and see how those do. I really shouldn't but I've just got that itch

Ever consider something like CarPro HydrO2? Spray on, rinse off. Extremely hydrophobic, and quite durable.

I've had great success with Blackfire Crystal Seal. Priced reasonably and easy to apply. A little goes a long way. It may not be necessary however after it cured for 24 hours I applied a coat Collinite 845.

Washed the car a couple weeks ago and used opti seal as a drying aid and I'm still shocked at how clean my car looks after a whole lot of raining here on Long Island. I've never seen anything like it before.

Same here! Just got stuck in a desert monsoon yesterday - trying on flooded streets, tons of rain. Got home and the car was clean. This morning a quick ONR wash and the rags barely got any dirt on them.
I'm a believer.

Yep, I applied Opti - Seal 2 weeks ago and left my car out in the AZ monsoon last night as my wife hogged the garage. It was very clean this AM and minimal water spots. I'm impressed.

Yeah buddy! I was at 7th St / Indian School when that nightmare hit last night. Stuck in a Taco Bell parking lot for 2 hours, then all the way up a flooded 7th St to Northern - by the time I got (near Deer Valley Airport) the car was dry and I couldn't believe how spot free and clean the car was.
I wondering is Optimum paid Mother Nature to prove a point to us.
