I just got a job for this vehicle that I will be detailing tomorrow, it's basically brand new and we already talked about what he wanted and expected from the detail. Basically being more focused on the interior, but I'm going to wash and clay the vehicle for him and then I was wondering what should I use? Wax or a sealant? I have many different waxes (all liquid) but I also have two sealants, HD Speed and WolfGang Sealant. What do you guys suggest? Should I just go with the 3m's HD Speed ?

If he wants you to focus on the interior then that's what he'll be judging the final results by. If you clay it you may mar the paint so if your'e not being paid to do a polish or AIO step why clay it? Wash it and seal it with your Wolfgang and invest your time on what the customer is focusing on which by what you posted is the interior. Just my opinion.

Have you quoted the job yet? Have you been able to pre-inspect it?

Yea $160.00 and it's pretty much a brand new vehicle there just rich people that like there car. I'll just wash and seal the vehicle and do a deep cleaning on the interior.

Sounds like a good plan. I charge about $250.00 for a one step polish and lsp on an average sized sedan or sports coupe. And that's kind of giving it away, but as this is just a side gig for me I'm okay with that. Oh and I don't touch the interior other than wiping the door jams. So a $160.00 for a vehicle that size should I'm thinking should take 4 hours max. I try to average $40.00-$50.00 an hour including my product usage in the equation.

This is my full time job if I charged them kind of prices I would never stay busy everyday lol. But yea we have tried high prices like that before and we noticed a big fall in the amount of work we had and we ended up actually losing money each month. So we quickly switched back to our original prices.

Yea but it's only getting a wax or a sealant so yea four hours is about right not to mention it's a brand new vehicle so it's actually a very easy job. 160$ for 4 hours of work. Who wouldn't take that money lol?

what he said.....larger than my wife's Sequoia...and that has a lot of surface area

Everyone is different, I know it's not going to take me no longer then 4hrs I do SUVs this size every week.
