Applying a glass coating with a round foam applicator
Hi guys,
I am planning on applying a glass coating in a near future.
I have a few round foam applicator that I could use and I was wondering if it would do a good job applying the coating or I should use a dedicated coating applicator for a more even coverage (or even a finger pocket foam applicator)
Thanks for the inputs

I use the el cheapo round sponges from a 3rd party. It's like 160 of them for little dollars.... I just use them once and throw away because they're so cheap. Not going to mess up my washing machine to try to clean them because I use them for different type coatings etc.

Foam applicators are fine. That's what I used for Opti-Glass

Use a microfiber applicator. They work the best for a glass coating

I never even thought of using microfiber applicator because I thought it would absorb the coating and could be a problem

Good to hear, I had concerns that it might result in a few high spots if I used regular round applicator as opposed to flat, dedicated coating applicator per se - thanks for your comment

Inevitably you will have a few high spots. Just knock them down after the allotted drying time. For example Opti-Glass is supposed to sit for 2 minutes before buffing. Took a bit of elbow grease but not bad at all.

What Glass coating product are you applying? Some apply with a microfiber applicator while other products apply with something else.

You can apply a coating with the round applicators. I prefer the suede towel and block as I feel it helps to level the product better and actually gives me more control.
