Couple specific questions on detailing items
The factory wheels on my truck (F150 appearance package) are black painted aluminum, which I assume is clear coated. Its a lower gloss finish. They are also not the most durable finish and seem to be easily scratched from basic cleaning. Would you guys recommend putting a wax or sealant on them? How about a compound with polish to remove the light marks?
Secondly I have a hard tri folding tonneau cover from Undercover Flex, its very similar to a Bakflip brand cover. Its a painted (I assume) aluminum waffle type metal with a fair amount of texture and thick strips of rubber. I think it might have some type of hard resin coating over the aluminum. Any way its pretty easy to clean up but I was thinking about trying to put a coat of wax with my DA machine for some shine, good idea? Is there a better way to dress it up?
