Re: Best Fully Waterproof Car Cover?

Any fabric car cover will only be water resistant up to a certain point. None of them are waterproof.

I personally have the weathershieldHP car covers. They are very thin and light. They initially will repel water, but ultimately will get saturated. However, they dry very quickly and do not keep moisture in. They also do a great job of keeping dust out. I had the NOAH fabric before and that got soaked and took a while to dry.

I am not sure I like Bob's plastic car cover as that might certainly keep water out, but any residual moisture that does get in gets trapped. Plastic certainly doesnt breath. That might be good for a temporary short term cover, but not for long term outdoors. But that is just my opinion.

"Again, I'm not worried about mold, mildew, or trapping water between the cover and the paint.

It's not going to remain on the car for long periods of times, a few days at most."

    Thanks

Could you buy one and treat it yourself to make it waterproof?

303 makes a protectant for outdoor covers that helps repel water, but even then its effect is only temporary.

Did that for years with ScotchGuard, but after two days of tropical soakage, it was overwhelmed.

•WallyWorld has the reusable, 3 Mil thick, 22 ft. long,
(Clear)Plastic Car Covers...that many body shops use...
(and similar to the one I have) for ~$22.00.

•This is a temporary cover that has an elastic band
on the bottom; and will fit to cover just about every
    car on the market.

    Note:
This cover can be used over cloth car covers to
protect it from dust, tree sap, bird droppings,
and other contaminates. I use them on vehicles
that hibernate indoors during the Winter months.
