    My Homemade/Repurposed Detailing Cart

Thought I'd post up some pics of a detailing supplies cart I just put together. The reason I did this little project is because when I'm working on a vehicle, I'm always setting pads or products or buffing towels all over the garage (or on the vehicle itself), and then when I need them again, I had to hunt all over to track them down. I found I was doing a lot of tiring and time-wasting walking around looking for my supplies.

So, I bought a used parts cart ($30) and some towel bars, threaded rod and misc. hardware from a big box store and put together this detailing cart. It wasn't meant to hold all my stuff, just the things I use frequently: My D/A buffer, favorite compounds, polishes, LSPs, pads, spray bottles and so forth. Didn't take long to assemble and so far, it's fulfilling it's purpose. Will make additional improvements as needed.

Looks good! I might have to look at getting a towel bar and spray bottle rack to put on the project center cart that I use.

    Jim,
Nice job in making the cart fully functional to your needs. Great idea to repurpose a used cart to save some $$, will give you more $$ to buy more products.
I am sure this will be a time saver. Thanks for sharing.

I used a 3/8" threaded rod, cut to length, and covered with plastic hose. Held on with a couple "L" brackets, with holes drilled out to hold rod. Then bolted to cart.

Thanks, Jim. I'll have to measure the doorway to see if there is enough clearance to put it on the back side of my cart. I'm thinking I may have to rig something up on the top of it, but I like the idea.

    Very inventive...and functional!

Now...Where are the cup holder(s) going to be located?

Best one I've seen! Where'd you get the cart from?
