    Re: Mechanical problem

Im leaning towards rear drum brake parts clanging around. That is IF you have rear drum and it sounds like it is coming from the rear. You havent given much info.

    Re: Mechanical problem

I feel as if it is coming from the front. The car is 8 years old with about 25,000 miles on it, It sounds like something is slightly grinding the metal or like it is clicking as you increase speed

You should try posting this to a Audi specific discussion forum. The people on there will have the same or similar car and may have been through the same problem.

I also sometimes hear the brakes squeak very little. Should I get new brakes (thinking about brembos ) or just take it in to a mechanic
Clicking?.....if its from the engine it might need a valve adjustment...otherwise if its over bumps then check your bushings, axle boots, strut hats and check the ball joints.

if is grinding...then it could be wheel bearings or a dragging brake pad.
