Battery Tender Plus ring terminals won't fit

Hello. I just went to install my new Battery Tender Plus. My car uses a side post terminal set up (no Posts) and I thought the ring terminals would slide right over the cable terminal bolts that goes into the battery but they're too small. Not sure where else I'd attatch the ring terminals or where I'd use alligator clips on this battery. How does everyone else use this thing?

You might have to visit the auto parts store and get some ring terminals that will fit your battery and cut those off and crimp the new ones on.

Drill them out larger, probably doesn't need to be much.

Battery Tenders have historically been used on motorcycle, ATV and mower batteries...stuff that gets stored for the winter. Their batteries are smaller and frequently have smaller bolts.

As was suggested, drilling out the terminals or crimping on new ones is an option. You might check to see if you have a hot terminal somewhere, frequently enclosed in a plastic box with a door for use with jumper cables. If you've got one you can hook up the alligator clip there and ground the other one darn near anywhere. Might even be a ground post nearby.

The first time I tried to jumpstart someone with my GMC truck I stood there with my mouth hanging open trying to figure out how I was going to clamp to the almost non-existent battery terminals. Then I spotted the red box with the big + on it. I thought.. "coouhl"!

Use the clamps. There should be just emough bolt head at the battery to clamp onto.

I bought one from AG that I recieved a week ago. It is currently hooked up to my Yamaha. The Battery Tender Plus cycles off & on as needed automatically. I like the idea of having 1.25 amps vs .75 amps.

This last one I got from AG is actually my second one. So now, I have one hooked up to the S2K, and one hooked up to the R1

With these trickle chargers, the battery is constantly maintained, and will prolong the life of the battery.

I give two thumbs up for the Battery Tender Plus

Did I mention that Deltron warranties these battery tenders for 10 years?

That's what I'm doing now but don't like it like this. I think I'll try drilling them out a little. Thanx everybody.

Re: Battery Tender Plus ring terminals won't fit

Okay so I took the Dremel out and filed away a little from the inside of the ring terminal and was able to fit the ring terminal around the bolt but the blocky black/red indicators just before the ring terminals still won't let me fasten the battery cables back on. Using the clamps there is very little of the bolt head to clamp to and they feel like they could fall off which could cause a dangerous situation. I have to say I'm pretty dissapointed with this.
