    Lighting

So first off. Garage is 20x20 with 9 foot high ceilings. I would like enough light to be able to see swirl marks. I explained this to a friend, who has been an electrician for about 25 years. He told me to get 6 of these Lithonia IBZT5 fixtures. Here is a link with details Lithonia Lighting IBZT5 4L MV Fluorescent High Bay Lighting with 4 Lamps - - Amazon.com

He will hook them up and do the electrical for basically a case of beer. My question is are these sufficient enough? Overkill? They are quite pricey and I know nothing about lighting so anything you can tell me would be great.

    Re: Lighting

I did four sets of high output T5 bulbs, 2 bulbs per set and they are great at lighting up the garage for my work. However, if I had to do it again, I might consider adding in some can lighting that could be used both in tandem with these or even by themselves perhaps with different temperature and style lights that would better show swirls. That said, I still find a good set of LED"s or halogens on stands that can be adjusted are best as they can help light up everything from the lower rocker panels to the doors to even the roof and hood when adjusted higher up.

My garage is 24x24 with 10ft ceilings and combined with my door opener, here area couple quick pics I have online showing how well they light up the vehicles.

As you can see here however, lights on stands are priceless to me.

    Wow. Awesome garage, man.
It is no coincidence that man's best friend cannot talk.

Those 4 bulb fixtures look very nice. Get a couple of those mounted on the walls too and you will be blinding yourself with light.

Thanks. Those are old pics too. Organized much better as of today. Hoping to begin the painting and cosmetics this summer but details have been keeping me busy.
