Residue left after Waxing
I waxed my Black 05 Corvette last weekend with black fire wax applying the wax with a LCC red pad and flex 3401 polisher. I took the car out this weekend for a cruise and noticed in the hot bright sun I have like a residue or hazing through out the car I wiped it down but have noticed it seemed to of reappear. Any thoughts on what this is and what to the best way to get ride of this problem. Thanking you all in advance for your knowledge.

What steps did you take in preparation for the wax?

Dave I washed the car then waxed it over the same wax I already had on the car.

Perhaps carnauba sweating? This appears like unbuffed residue, even though you've previously buffed off the wax, and usually happens if you apply too much, apply to a hot panel, or do not leave enough time for the wax to dry prior to buffing off. Usually happens with high-carnauba content products. Just wipe with a QD or wash - it will eventually stop reappearing (usually after several re-wipe-downs). One way to help prevent this is to do a second buff, an hour after the initial buff-off, with chilled QD or distilled water.

I think over application is the problem as well. Good tips Francis!!

Re: Residue left after Waxing
I have a black Mustang. I get similiar issues if I take the wax off before it has had enough time to dry. I have found the best way to get rid of it is to reapply the wax, wait for it to fully dry, then take it off.
