    Polishing PPF Film

I need to take a deeper dive into this but PPF with -self heal- I'll put the self heal category into the same as *clear coat*, in that it's on the top of the material/base.

My film does not feel as smooth as new, as I suppose it's got some -stuff- in it. I can do a chemical decontamination as a 1st pass.
For those that do have PPF, what's your take on using mild mild polish/paint cleaner on it.
Maybe I leave it alone, a little bit gritty and all and just leave the self heal portion of the film be as full as possible.
And or do a light polish, but with the known fact that to some degree, I am removing/diminishing a smidge of the self heal ?

PPF can be polished. It will remove any of the built in hydrophobic characteristics so you will need to put something on it if you want that.

You may lose the self healing as well.

Gyeon makes a dedicated PPF polish.

thx. I think I'd rather live with the slightly grittier surface than to lose the self healing.....which is a huge ownership experience ...

Claybar it. Sounds like you have pollution on the surface

not as familiar with PPF, could you also do a chemical decontamination prior, maybe dissolve some contaminants before trying to mechanically remove them?

Brand new, it already feels like you have a shower curtain/Saran Wrap on it.
Some of it I suppose is just pollen....after a wash it def feels better. However, I do feel some contamination on it after a wash.
It's not terrible but it's noticeable for the OCD autopian type.
