Two towels - one for the main wipe, then A secondary one to make sure the panel was totally dry. I figured that would be enough but maybe not?

I use a few towels when wiping off. It’s a possibility that the oils were not removed if using the one towel.

Add another layer of CanCoat. It’s easy to use anyway.

This was my 1st guess. Though not being there, I can't say for certain. I use several towels with Gyeon Prep and multiple applications. I have used EVO and the previous CanCoat before. I know the beading was apparent on the previous CanCoat with it raining immediately after use.

I also don't think the foam applicator is really necessary for CanCoat, two microfiber towels may make your life easier on application.

big fan of CanCoat....it was the first serious LSP I put on my bike and it held up really great

also a big fan of Gyeon Prep...i was pretty liberal with the prep but like you, it leaves it so clean, you can kinda tell right away when you have nothing but a clean clear coat left

I found the application to be similar as you describe, and maybe you felt this, but even though it does get a bit grabby for a moment, that almost immediately changed into a slick feeling as you buff it out....and the finish looked amazing...just one coat served me really well for a couple of years

edit: as well, I used two clean towels for every part of a bike....i'd do the same with panels on a cage.....liberal spray of Prep, One towel to remove most of the Prep, a second to finish it out until it's dry...i change MFs a lot when i do just about everything I do

I like Guz and Rod's responses. Maybe simply give it a good wash and reapply it using a folded MF towel to apply.

Thanks to everyone - I’m going to give it another shot once the polar vortex has passed.

Hey guys - so I reapplied the Cancoat and it was great for a few washes. I use Gyeon foam in my MTM cannon and regular Bathe in my wash bucket, which I can’t imagine would reduce the effectiveness. I use ceramic detailer after each wash, because it seems to be a lot slicker….but I’m not seeing the same performance anymore.

Just not sure what’s amiss here.

When you reapplied what was your process? Repolish? Decon wash? Just a plain wash and apply?

I just did a plain wash with foam and bathe before reapplying.

What’s your towel situation? Did you use your same trusty towels to apply & remove? Or did you use brand new virgin towels? Same question as far the prep wipe.
