Re: IronX not doing anything | defective???

Meguiar's makes a wheel cleaner that a lot of people use to iron decon paint and it is normally available at almost any name brand parts store

I have used it on my Lexus and had no issues

Search youtube for the exact item

I think you've got that backwards...

Claying will remove any and all types of bonded contaminants.

IronX and the like will only remove the iron containing contaminants.

So... If you do a thorough job at claying, and clay only, the end result will be the same, for all practical purposes, as if you did IronX + clay.

Can't say the same the other way around.

It would take until this weekend to ship a new bottle of IronX to me. So I guess I will be doing without, unless
there happens to be a local retailer that carries the stuff.
Don't sweat it... Like I said, if you do a good job at claying, the results will be the same with or without the IronX step.

The expiration does not signify that it is bad. It’s a Korean thing that must be on the bottle.

Anyway since you didn’t see color change then you’re paint is free from iron fall out.

I'm using Centrix Posi-Quiet ceramic bads. Brake dust is almost undetectable with these vs the oem semi-metallic.
The Oem's tend to warp the rotors more easily as well.

So I believe the date is printed how it is in Korea. They go year/month/day.

If correct would expire June 20th 2025.

You don't need iron-x to polish a car. I usually just clay really well. I hate the stuff, it sinks.

I picked up a bottle of Meguiar's Iron Removing Spray "Clay DRTU200232. It makes no difference spraying even on the fenders and lower doors. I guess I have no iron particulates.
I just finished claying the car with Meguiars mild clay, got a fair amount of stuff out of the finish, it feels smooth now.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk[/QUOTEHaven't seen anything from Car Pro with an expiration date of 3 years. It's day, month and year, unless they changed it recently. I don't even think they use the labels anymore. The date is printed on the bottom of the label.

I agree, even the lemon scent stinks. If you have deeply embedded iron particles in your clear coat..clay will only shear it off and not remove it completely. You will need to dissolve it with an iron remover.
