Rupes mark ii or Griots the boss for buissness?

I'm in same boat as OP, trying to decide between the two. Is the above quote supposed to be links? If so they aren't working on my iPad or Mac, and I would like to see reviews like that.

Theres plenty of quality products that cone out of China..its just China is most used due to being cheapest...so its a given they tend to come out with the most crap

I have the Rupes. I think its a great machine. Rupes makes everything in house for their tools including the motor. I would take a product built in a free society over one built in a communist country any day of the week.

Are we still talking about the tool or the fool? If we are discussing the tool, they are both comparable. As for where they are built, if that factors into your equation then fantastic.

When you put both machines to the paint they are almost identical. Griots has a lifetime warranty, Rupes is a tried and trusted machine.

I agree with this. Also, since people report either machine will do the job - why not support the company that pioneered large throw technology? Supporting Rupes also enables them to bring other innovative products to market like the iBrid.

I dunno - it seems like a no brainer to me.

Playing devils advocate here....

Then why not support the company that further innovated the concept and pushed Rupes to up their game? By that logic, we'd all still be using the PC because we'd want to support the company who pioneered the DA in the first place. (or whoever it was- you get the idea)

It is a valid reason- just not sure its one that I personally would use. I believe there are a lot more tangible factors that I would base my decision on.
