How to machine polish/wax very thin areas or panels?

I have a new F-150 and there are a few panels that are very "skinny" including the A-pillars, the top of the doors, and the tailgate (see pictures below). I am planning on ordering a Griot's along with LC 5" and LC 3" or LC 3.5" backing plates. I already have an assortment on LC 4" pads, but will be ordering 3.5" and 5.5" pads.

So...how would you go about polishing or waxing these areas?

I think you are on the right track with the ordering of the backing plates.

I considered ordering a backing plate and pads for my G100. But after adding up the cost and the cost of a new Griots Garage 3" orbital, I bought that as a package with pads and just received it today.

Not only am I going to use it for narrow areas, I plan on using it for my frosty headlights and dull tail lights.

By hand with a more aggresive product worked for me until I got in the DA stage.

Any help guys? What do you do for these tiny panels that even a 3" pad wouldn't fit

I would tape it off really good and use the 3" pads.

This is where the new Flex 8 with 1", 2" and 3" pads comes in handy.

Hmm...alright well I guess I will either hand wax those portions or just use my 4" pads or by some 3" pads.

Don't have the cash to buy a Flex on top of the Griot's that I plan on purchasing soon.
