Need some help! Products leaving oily residue on paint!

So I started buffing out all my swirls on my new black 2013 ram. I am using the Wolfgang twins with a porter cable da. After sing both products, I have successfully removed the swirls and applied some turtle wax black wax. Now I am having a oily waxy residue that won't come off. I tried washing with turtle wax rinseless, and wiping down with some detailing spray. But I still have this residue. It's making dust and stuff stick to my truck, and if you wipe your finger across it , it wipes off like wax and smears. Please help.

Did you wipe the car down with IPA after the polishing stages? Some polishes (eg. Menzerna, don't know about the others) leaves an oily layer if not worked long enough.

My guess is it's the TW stuff. It's probably loaded with shoe polish like fillers. I would strip it off with a quality paint cleaner by hand and use a higher quality wax.

The tw is only on one side of the truck. The other side has meguairs gold. The spray detailed is Lucas speed wax. Should I clay bar it or something?

I have seen that the Wolfgang Finishing Glaze can take extra attention to make sure it is totally removed.

Wolfgang/AGO says it is OK to follow WGFG immediately with Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant. I have had good success with this combo.

Try using a IPA solution of about 10%. If you do a search in Mike's section there is a detailed article about how to mix one up using various Isopropyl alcohol concentrates. You can pick a bottle at an pharmacy for about a dollar.

If that doesn't work you can use a non-abbrasive paint cleaner but that means ordering it so it will take longer.

If you have some Mineral Spirits (MS)...
Put some on a soft MF-towel/applicator, and see if it will remove this oily residue
from an out-of-the-way "test spot" location.

Proceed to thoroughly re-wash this area, and any others,
that you use this MS-removal-method upon.
I suggest: One panel at a time.

And as mentioned:
Use an entirely different wax after all of this oily residue has been removed...
An even better choice would be to use Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant (WGDGPS) instead, IMO.

How do you guys feel about windex as a ISP. I read mike has used it in the past. I did a test panel and the windex removed the film. Question is, how safe it it to the paint.

Remove the Turkey Wax. You started off with top notch products and quickly dropped to the bottom of the barrel to finish it off.
