Strip old waxes and sealants to recoat?
Hi I am going to strip the waxes and sealants off and recoat.
There is the following on the car:
- Meguiars Ultimate Liquid Wax
- Wolfgang Paint Sealant 3.0
- Other Waxes
This is all going to be done by hand
Please share the order to use.
I have:
- Meguiars Ultimate Compound
- Wolfgang Finishing Glaze
- Roar Swirl Remover
- Clay Bar
- Prepsol
Thank you

•Polishing will ensure the total removal
of all previously applied Waxes/Sealants.
•With that in mind; and, not knowing exactly
what condition the paint is in at this time;
yet still considering the products that you have
on hand; I’d go with the following order/steps:
-Wash/Dry
-Clay
-Roar Swirl Remover
-Wolfgang Finishing Glaze
-Glaze?
(^is this a non-abrasive, “pure polish”?)
-Sealant
•IMO:
-Unless you are going to be applying a
‘Coating’; or, only if the Sealant specifi-
cally calls for a squeaky clean surface
prior to its application...
-Prepsol is an unnecessary step/process:
(That’d be: “working backwards”?)
Note:
If the condition of the paint calls for more
than the swirl-remover...Meguiar’s Ultimate
Compound would be a likely candidate to
be used—(RE: “Test Spot”)

Hi Bob thanks for your reply, all of this is going to be done by hand.
Paint is in good condition
The Glaze is 3m Hand Glaze (I left another post about this for you)
Probably put Wolfgang Paint Sealant 3.0, still would like to play with different sealants, thinking of Meguiars Ultimate Fast Finish.
Thank you
