I’ve seen it many times. That took me about 6 cars to find. I had a mountaineer that had real low miles with Michelin’s that did that same thing on the side walls. My treads weren’t that bad though.
Don your tires just look worn. A lot of miles and just end of their life. Definitely not a tire shine issue. Many tire shops don’t know much about tires other than they are black and round.
A lot of the side wall dry rot I have seen starts near the rim low like that when there is quite a lot of tread left. The example i posted had the middle of the sidewall cracking.
