Remove oxidation on engine cover

Hi all

I need some help. I have tried to use those products C4 Permanent restorer, solution finish, meguiar ultimate protectant, meguiars plastx, V36 polish to try to remove the oxidation on my engine rocker cover plastic, but it don't work.


























I have got no idea why it wont remove it, I am not sure what is those marks on the cover whether if it is marks, oxidation or something else.

Do you know what I need to do?

I dont want to get OEM replacement, because it will cost me $200 for a new one which is not needed.

I am thinking about to get the heat gun or magic sponge to see if it would help to remove it?

If you know how I can remove it, please let me know!

After a good thorough cleaning you might want to try BLACKFIRE All In One Trim and Tire Protectant. BLACKFIRE All-In-One Trim & Tire Protectant, tire dressing, tire protectant, whitewall tire cleaner
If that doesn't work, try a wipe down with some APC and then try CarPro DLUX: CQuartz DLux Plastic & Wheel Coating

I would clean it very good with a scotch brite pad green.Then with a artist brush apply vaseline to the letters very carefully to stay on the letters and paint it with satin black.The color is gone so coating it you will still see the problem but a little bit shiny.Best paint for that would be wurth satin black.

I second the reprinting for a permeant solution or you could even check out some trim dyes. Anything else's isn't going to restore it back to that permeant black new looking shine.

Just painted some hood louvers for a 87 iroc z.Scuff them with fine steel wool applied a thin coat of adhesion promoter then painted with wurth.

I have seen this thread before and will give it one more shot.

I just finished using Sonus Trim & Motor Kote on the under the hood plastic.

Prep was minimal -douce with APC, agitate with brushes and flood rinse with low pressure water.

Blow until completely dry (very key).

Spray on the STMK as thin as possible and let sit 1 hour.

There will be pockets of white product but DO NOT WIPE.

After 1 hour dry time wipe any streaks with slightly damp cloth and good to go.

In my case turned out great but only done week ago so hopefully lasts awhile.
