I just don't see how Forever Black could wear off like what we see in the pictures.

I've used SEM paints before and they work great as long as you properly prep the surface. My guess is most people don't know how to properly prepare a surface when painting and especially when painting plastic.

Maybe the OP can find out what the history is behind the picture?

I had an 09 Avalanche that Chevy had a recall on the cladding. They used a product called Gatorback. It came out pretty good. Not sure if its available for retail.

Sorry about the delay. This is my first thread so I wasn't aware there were other pages. Lol. Mike, the product is actually what is coming off on the picture. Interestingly enough the remainder of the plastic coated with forever black looks fantastic and isn't peeling at all. When I started detailing it looked like the picture attached. Thanks for everyone's help!

You know... I've always wondered how many people miss out on great information and follow-ups to their questions because they are not aware there are more pages.

I wrote an article on this but unless a person found the article they still wouldn't know.

How to navigate to other pages in a thread

    That's what it looks like.

Sounds right, Forever Black doesn't peel off because it's not a layer on the surface. It's dye that penetrates INTO the surface.
