Remove Tree Sap from Windshield
My 2015 Acura TLX is 2 months old and about a month into ownership I noticed millions of tiny specks on the glass. it's only noticeable when driving right into the sun.
My sense is it's either hard water stains or tree sap. I have a soft water tap at my home and that's the only water that has been used to wash the vehicle (although even this softened water has minerals remaining). I'm leaning towards sap because my office has dozens of tall trees in the area and I have noticed a few globs of sap on the car in the past.
I took a razor blade to a small area of the windshield and it did seem to make a noticeable difference. Invisible Glass doesn't get the job done.
Do you have any recommendations for a solution or solvent that might work better and easier than a razorblade on the glass?
Thanks,
Ron in Idaho

Re: Remove Tree Sap from Windshield
You could give clay or Nanoskin a try. Being on glass you won't have to worry about marring, so you could apply some pressure.
Lotsa lube! Good luck.

91 percent alcohol takes sap off of everything.

Please always use a new blade, don't do a stupid thing like I did, scratch my windshield and try to get out of the sun.

Try using a claybar after spraying it and the windshield with IPA (rubbing alcohol). It works great.

You're using the razor blade while lubricating with the Invisible Glass, correct?

I also recommend isopropyl alcohol, if it is tree sap.

Re: Remove Tree Sap from Windshield
A week after washing and using Meguiars ULW on my daughters first car I noticed it was covered in a sticky film while parked under trees at home
It looks like someone sprayed it with 3M spray adhesive.
It turns out to be honeydew from aphids. I tried hand sanitizer and it worked on a test spot. Good chance your problem is an aphid infestation at work.
If possible park away from the trees.
