Deciding between Dr. Colorchip and OEM touch up paint

I am having trouble deciding between Dr. Colorchip and OEM touch up paint. I have a few chips down to metal. Dr. Colorchip is much more expensive than touch up paint I can get at the dealer, but looks like a much easier process.
Has anyone ever had problems with Dr. Colorchip that would make you not recommended it?

I had issues could never get it to stick. Went with OEM and it's a lot thicker and of course way cheaper...

Dr. ColorChip has varying results here. Some say they had issues, while others, including myself, had great results. Perhaps the color of your paint plays a factor in the success. Seems lighter colors struggled.

I never used Dr colorchip, but read that the paint that comes with dr color chip is thin.Might make sense to use this on road rage chips.


If your gonna go with OEm touch up paint, I would go with Langka Kit. in reality all you need is the Blob Eliminator. You more then likely have Alcohol and paint sealant around the house. You can pick up the microfiber brushes from HObby Lobby(craft store) and the microfiber cloth from one of the Big Box stores, or save money and used a old t-shirt.

Make sure to polished the area you work on after about 2 weeks.
