Protection for Motorcycle Polished Aluminum Engine Cases

Several years ago it was recommended that after polishing the uncoated polished aluminum engine cases on my 1995 Harley Sportster with Mothers Billet Polish, that I protect them with a "pure" carnuba wax rather than a synthetic "wax". Is this still true. If so why?

I have both Meguiar's #16 and Meguiar's Ultimate on hand. Any suggestions? At this time I do not want to invest in the new coatings.

Good choice, but I prefer 845 on all polished al.

Tuscarora Dave has a great post on the durability of the coating that you aren't interested in.

    To each their own.
But the suggestion pertains to the durability of high content carnauba degrading from the heat of the part, and sealants standing up better to the challenge. Or not.

Maybe FK1000P would be a good option.

    IDK.
    Just know what I use/prefer.
That particular al. part rarely gets more than what...180-200 degrees or so.
